Collision claims and estimates

The first estimate may not show everything.

An initial insurer estimate is commonly based on the information available at that stage. Once the vehicle is inspected or disassembled, hidden damage, broken components, required procedures, and additional repair operations may become visible.

ABC helps review the known damage, discuss the repair information, and coordinate the next step. Coverage decisions, deductibles, rental benefits, and payment terms remain subject to the individual policy and insurer.

01

Starting with accident photos

Send the vehicle, impact area, and any documents you already have. Clear photos are useful, but they are not required to submit the form.

02

Reviewing estimate details

Repair estimates can include labor operations, parts, refinishing, materials, scans, measurements, calibrations, and other required procedures.

03

Documenting additional damage

If inspection or disassembly reveals items not included initially, added documentation may be prepared for insurer review under the claim process.

Insurance repair questions

What to expect from the estimate.

Do I need to open a claim before contacting ABC?

No. You can request a repair estimate before or after contacting an insurer. If you already have a claim, keep the claim number, adjuster information, and insurer estimate available.

Why can the repair estimate change after disassembly?

Exterior panels can conceal damaged brackets, absorbers, reinforcements, wiring, sensors, structure, and neighboring components. Additional required procedures may also be identified after the vehicle and manufacturer information are reviewed.

What is a supplemental estimate?

It is additional repair documentation prepared when damage or required operations are found that were not included in the initial estimate. The insurer reviews the information according to its claim process and the applicable policy.

What should I send with my estimate request?

Start with your name, phone number, vehicle information, and any available photos. During the call, you can also provide the claim number, insurer estimate, adjuster information, and relevant accident details.
